One of our foremost young French Horn players, Ben Goldscheider – a former BBC Young Musician finalist and ECHO Rising Star – joins the celebrated and versatile Sacconi Quartet.
A beautifully balanced programme includes Robin Holloway’s new Quintet for Horn and Strings, Mozart’s elegant horn quintet and the Romance from Rachmaninov’s unfinished first string quartet. The evening culminates in Schubert’s dramatic and ever-popular Death and the Maiden, recently recorded by the Sacconis to much acclaim.
