Please note, this is a change to the previously advertised programme due to the indisposition of Alice Coote.

One of the finest operatic baritones of our time in combination with a well-near legendary pianist/collaborator – Simon Keenlyside and Roger Vignoles: a very special night in prospect for Petworth. Sir Simon is one of Covent Garden’s most admired performers who this year returns to the Royal Opera House to reprise his acclaimed performance as Verdi’s Rigoletto. We see a different side of him in Petworth as he performs a wide-ranging programme of song; the finest of Schubert to the elegance of English song by Vaughan Williams and Butterworth via Poulenc, Duparc and Ravel.

He performs alongside Roger Vignoles, himself one of the supreme accompanists of our time, his many stage partnerships having included Sir Thomas Allen, Barbara Bonney, Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, Angelika Kirschlager, Christoph Pregardien and Mark Padmore.
