Petworth House Pleasure Garden

11.00am - 3.30pm

FREE EVENT

A first for the festival – working in association with the National Trust, Petworth House’s Pleasure Garden comes alive with a series of free performances for the whole family. Street entertainers, music, buskers, stilt walkers and the frankly surreal and bizarre. Do also take the opportunity to drop into the United Reformed Church whilst in town to see artwork created by local school children during the course of the latest Petworth Festival/West Sussex Arts Society PopUp Art project, and look out for heritage walks around Petworth where you can discover some of the many nooks and crannies in our beautiful town. Five hours during which to see Petworth en fête and in an entirely different light. And we say it again – all free!

The acts performing in the Pleasure Garden include an entirely mischievous trio of Slinkies; The Tree Fellas; Dennis Teeth the Gramophone DJ; a pair of Mermaids clearly some way from their natural habitat; music from Charlotte Campbell; the beautiful installation that is The Bell Orchestra; ‘street entertainer’ supreme Marky Jay; and hands- on activities including a circus skills workshop and an opportunity to make-your-own-art with The Children’s Workshop.

By kind permission of the National Trust
