“...immaculate five-part harmonies... a rousing display of fine musicianship.”
The first of two atmospheric candle-lit concerts in St Mary’s Easebourne features the exceptional quintet of musicians known as Kabantu, a combination of strings, guitar, vocals and percussion. Together they create new marriages of music from around the globe, and celebrate the space where different cultures meet. Vocal harmonies from South Africa coalesce with everything from Celtic reels to Brazilian samba and beyond.
Their brief career has already seen performances at the BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall, the BBC Free Thinking Festival at The Sage Gateshead, BBC Radio 3 In Tune, The Bridgewater Hall, Celtic Connections and Cambridge Folk Festival.
