The Petworth Festival welcomes back the remarkable pianist Isata Kanneh-Mason who so memorably appeared with her cellist brother, Sheku, at last October’s Petworth Festival Autumn Special. On this occasion we welcome her as a soloist having topped the classical charts with her debut album Romance featuring the music of Clara Schumann. For her recital, Isata brings a wide-ranging programme including major works by Mozart and Beethoven, with the second half dedicated to the music by two American greats – Gershwin and Samuel Barber - and the remarkable living Russian composer, Sofia Gubaidulina.

Download the programme notes here.

Mozart - Sonata No. 14 in C minor K.457

Chopin - Ballade No. 2 in F major, Op. 38

Beethoven - Sonata No. 1 in F minor, Op. 2, No. 1

Gubaidulina - Chaconne

Gershwin - Three Preludes

Barber - Piano Sonata in E flat minor, Op. 26
