One of the UK’s foremost vocal ensembles joins us to mark the 500th anniversary of the death of Leonardo da Vinci, the greatest polymath the world has seen. Alongside his art, science and inventions Leonardo’s first job away from Florence was probably as a musician, and he always described music as ‘shaping the invisible’.

Introduced by Oxford University’s Professor Martin Kemp and I Fagiolini’s Musical Director Robert Hollingworth, this immersive concert matches Leonardo’s iconic art with vocal masterworks illustrating his images through the prism of music.

Also tying in with the moon landing anniversary and the 50 years since the first flight of Concorde, Shaping the Invisible culminates with a new work by poet Gilliam Clarke and music by Adrian Williams.

Screen images include Da Vinci’s The Anunciation, Salvator Mundi, The Last Supper and Mona Lisa with music by Victoria, Tallis, Monteverdi and Jannequin.

Generously sponsored by The Angel Inn Petworth, Augustus Brandt, The Hungry Guest, E. Street Bar & Grill & Petworth Antiques Market
