The festival returns to the very special environment that is Petworth House’s Stable Yard, the first of three intoxicating nights, this one featuring Los Pacaminos….
Los Pacaminos are almost certainly the first Tex-Mex band to have formed in the UK. Growing from an idea put forward by the legendary Paul Young, the band was formed to appease Paul’s desire to be once again a part of a band à la Q-Tips, pick up a guitar again, and not necessarily be the centre of attention…
The other band members are no mere backing musicians, comprising Jamie Moses (Queen, Tom Jones, Mike & the Mechanics, The Pretenders), songwriter Drew Barfield (Joe Jackson, Paul Young, Level 42), Pedal Steel guitarist Melvin Duffy (Squeeze, Robbie Williams, The Waterboys, Ray Davies), bassist Stevie Greetham (Paul Young, Joan Armatrading, Julia Fordham), drummer Mark Pinder (Paul Young, Alison Moyet), and the newest member on accordion and keys, Steve ‘Woody’ Oakman (Paul McCartney, Little Eva, Tony Christie). Lead vocals are mostly shared between Paul, Jamie and Drew… but above all – and this is the important bit – they’re a great live band!
