£5.0 to £18.0

An evening of truly memorable jazz, featuring the music of one of the greatest stars of the genre…

Starring Vimala Rowe and inspired by the legendary 1956 Carnegie Hall concert at which Billie Holliday’s music was accompanied by extracts from her autobiography Lady Sings The Blues, this words-and-music show gives a thrilling insight into this immortal jazz talent.

Rowe gives her unique interpretations of the ‘Lady Day’ catalogue while quoting from Billie’s extraordinary life story, with a band led by pianist/MD Alex Webb featuring Sue Richardson (trumpet), Mark Crooks (tenor & clarinet), Flo Moore (bass) and Sophie Alloway (drums).

The timeless, soulful repertoire includes What A Little Moonlight Can Do, Fine And Mellow, My Man, I Cover The Waterfront, Don’t Explain and the unforgettable Lady Sings The Blues.
