Founded by the charismatic double bass player and broadcaster Chi-chi Nwanoku, Chineke was established in 2015 to provide career opportunities for young Black and Minority Ethnic classical musicians. Chineke’s motto is: ‘Championing change and celebrating diversity in classical music’. We welcome members of Chineke for the first time in Petworth to perform a programme which includes chamber works by Mozart, Saint-Saëns and Coleridge-Taylor, a virtuosic arrangement of Strauss’s tone poem Till Eulenspiegel and a new work by Errolyn Warren written for the ensemble.
