This year's Festival Walk led by Jonathan Golden will start in Tillington at the edge of Petworth Park. The walk takes us into the Park and, by kind permission of the Leconfield Estates, on through the Estate towards Lurgashall, and back down to Tillington through River Common with beautiful views of the surrounding area and the South Downs towards Midhurst. The terrain is gentle with some hills over this rewarding seven-mile walk.
UPDATE 28 July 2018: Please note that the new starting point for this year's Festival Walk will be Tillington Cricket Pavilion (not the Village Hall as advertised in the brochure - this is due to refurbishment taking place in Tillington Village Hall).
Parking: There is plenty of parking along the road, in front of the Village Hall and at the Cricket Pavilion.
Tiffins Tearoom of Petworth are generously donating cakes which can be purchased at the Cricket Pavilion at the end of the walk along with a cuppa! This year, all proceeds will go to the Petworth Community Garden.
The walk itself is free, and will be on wet or fine! Boots recommended. Dogs who don't wander off are welcome.
