2014 Literary Weekend 13 - 16 November
Box Office opens Saturday 4 October
Darren from The Petworth Bookshop ready for work at the 2013 Petworth Festival Literary Weekend
The warmest of thanks to everyone who supported the 2014 Petworth Festival, whether as a Sponsor, Patron, Friend or concert attender. Also many thanks to the extraordinary company of artists who made our two-plus weeks such an extraordinarily positive and rewarding experience.
There were too many highlights to even dare compiling a short list – and we know from conversations with many of you that you have your own versions – but thank you in particular to those of you who attended events that could be described as being outside your comfort zone. That after all is one of the joys of the festival experience – trying something new alongside the tried and tested. This will undoubtedly include those of you who chose to see The Petworth Plays, and from your reactions on the night, this was the most extraordinarily positive project, all the better for being innovative, locally significant and, above all, of tremendous quality.
We will of course be back in July 2015 with the next edition of a festival that is growing both in size and reputation year on year, but please keep an eye on the website for details of the 4th Petworth Festival Literary Weekend. Once again this will run over 4 days between November 13 – 16, and we have no doubt there will be events you will be nourished and entertained by!
With all good wishes Stewart Collins Artistic Director

"The balmy evening and the parkland setting could not have been more perfect for the frolicking nymphs and the gloomy chapel was an ideal backdrop for the blood-curdling Duchess of Malfi."
A unique set of Jacobean dramas that have been in Lord Egremont's family and the Petworth House collection since the 17th century. Click to hear about this project from our Artistic Director, Stewart Collins.
