The first Jazz in The Stables concert in 2011 was
a huge success – a sell-out with a long waiting list.
Once again, we are grateful to Lord and
Lady Egremont and the National Trust for opening
the doors on the atmospheric Stables of Petworth
House for an evening celebrating jazz music and
musicians in all their glorious variety – the energy
of the young emerging jazz musicians in the West
Sussex Music Service’s big band; the extraordinary
vocal range and style of ‘force of nature’ singer,
Liane Carroll; and The Jive Aces – where jazz
meets swing. Together for over a decade, this
incredibly popular six piece group has performed at
thousands of festivals, theatres and events throughout the UK,
Europe and USA, as well as Japan, Israel and the Caribbean.
A fitting high-energy romp to end a richly varied evening.
